Our Flatscan-System is a measuring method to detect very small defects in bodyshell work such as pits, dints and dents with a level difference of more than 5µm.

The system consists of several LED optics which are positioned on a circle-segment above the object under inspection. This allows a hundred percent control of differently shaped components while the production process is full swing. The processing time for each unit is approximately 4.9 seconds.

The fine formation of shades caused by the surface defect is amplified by the tangential glancing light with the effect that the fault becomes very clearly visible. The integrated cameras record field control pictures that are transmitted by an adequate software to a PC where they are analysed and evaluated.

The detected faults with their respective coordinates are stored in a data base or sent to a labelling system and marked on the component.
